A Chinese national paragliding team athlete died in a training accident on Monday, police said.

Yang Xiaoqiang, 20, plunged to the ground from 100 meters high when his paraglider went wrong in the air.

Yang, born in central China's Hubei Province, joined the national team last June and claimed a silver medal in the 2011 world paragliding championships in the Czech Republic.
