The three-year-old female panda, Lin Ping, on Wednesday chose Germany and Spain as the teams to compete in the final match of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship.

On the occasion of the famous panda's birthday party, Chiang Mai Zoo in the North prepared balls and national flags of Spain, Portugal, Germany and Italy -- the national teams competing in the upcoming semi-final matches.
If Lin Ping's prediction turns out to be correct, the panda will predict the result of the Euro 2012 final match as well, said Prasertsak Boontrakulpuntawee, chief of the zoo's panda research project.
In 2010, the Thai-born panda correctly predicted that Spain would win the World Cup, according to the zoo.
Lin Ping is the first panda to be born in Thailand. Like her parents -- Lin Hui and Xuang Xuang -- Lin Ping is considered as a property of China.
Female panda Lin Hui and male panda Xuang Xuang have been on loan from China to Chiang Mai Zoo since 2003, as part of a panda research program. The loan agreement will see the two pandas and their offspring returned to China after 10 years.
