Steven Gerrard signs a two year contract extension Liverpool. |
Steven Gerrard has signed a new two- year deal with English premier league side Liverpool, it was reported on Monday.
The 33-year-old England captain, who has played for Liverpool for 630 matches and scored 159 goals, has been in talks with his club since the end of last season.
His previous deal had been due to expire at the end of next season but manager Brendan Rodgers made the future of the 33-year- old a priority, the BBC said.
Gerrard, who made his club debut in 1998, told the club's website: "I think everyone knows what it means to me. I've been here that long and so to extend, it's a big day for me and I'm really happy for myself and my family. "
