Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova has cooled speculation linking midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Manchester United, insisting the 26-year-old wants to stay with the Catalan club.
"I am aware that we have received offers from other teams. I talked with him and he told me he wants to stay," said Vilanova.
"He wants to succeed here."
United confirmed on Monday they had launched a £26million bid for the former Arsenal captain, who has failed to secure a regular starting spot at Barcelona since returning to the club from Arsenal two years ago.
Vilanova’s comments will come as a huge blow to United manager David Moyes, who has struggled to make much headway with his list of targets.
