Former world number one Martina Hingis is to return to play doubles at the Southern California Open from July 27 to August 4, six years after her retirement.
The Swiss star will team up with her former partner Slovak Daniela Hantuchova again and is quite satisfied with her current competitive spirit.
Hingis retired twice. She first retired in 2003 at the age of 22 because of injuries and had second retired for 6 years since 2007 after having been tested positive for benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine. Then she was banned for two years by the International Tennis Federation.
Hingis has already won five Grand Slam singles titles and nine in doubles and had been the world number one for 209 weeks.
