Former Chinese gymnast Sang Lan recently got engaged to her agent Huang Jian. Reports say the two will get married by the end of this year. "I'm not 20 anymore. What I need is a simple [kind of] happiness,"Sang explained.

Sang Lan was paralyzed after a fateful fall at the 1998 Goodwill Games in New York. A wheelchair has become an indispensable part of her life ever since. Sang was pushed to the point of public scrutiny several times after the accident, especially when she filed a lawsuit in the U.S.

Huang Jian, Sang's agent and husband-to-be, has always been her strongest support system and sheltered her through thick and thin. Huang was one of the first sports agents in China and used to work for yet another gymnast before meeting Sang in 1998.

"We were destined to meet."Huang said, "I really wanted to help her. Believe it or not, I never thought of doing all this for the money."

"I don't need much romance. I want to be with someone that I can talk to about everything and share my sorrows with. I just want a simple [kind of] happiness,"Sang explained.
