Li Na has her third and probably best chance to win the Australian Open.

China's Li Na stormed into her third Australian Open final with a devastating display to beat Canada's Eugenie Bouchard 6-2 6-4 at Rod Laver Arena on Thursday.

No. 4-seeded Li, runner-up in Melbourne in 2011 and again last year, was dominant from the off as she pounced on the Bouchard serve at every opportunity to roar into a 5-0 lead in just 14 minutes, leaving the 19-year-old Canadian stunned as she managed only two points in that time.

Bouchard managed to regain some respectability to the score as she broke Li once, but she couldn't do it again, as Li inevitably grabbed the first set 6-2.

The second set was a much tighter affair as the pair exchanged four service breaks in the first six games before Li finally took charge.

Fittingly, Li finished off the match with a backhand crosscourt, one of 16 backhand winners in the match and her biggest weapon against Bouchard.

Li now faces the winner of the second semifinal between Agnieszka Radwanska and Dominika Cibulkova in Saturday's final.
