Former Manchester United legendary coach Alex Ferguson will work as a coach ambassador for UEFA, UEFA president Michel Platini said on Friday.
"Sir Alex will be chairman of the forum of elite coaches that meet every year. He will also be a member of the technical study group of the Champions League and the European Championship," Platini said at an executive committee meeting in Nyon, Switzerland.
The 72-year-old Scot retired after winning the 13th English Premier League title with Man United last season. He had spent nearly record-making 27 years at the Old Trafford and is seen as one of the most successful manager in England.
