Beijing Guoan surrender two-goal lead to share a draw with Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

A vital cameo from substitute Kohei Shimizu helped salvage a point for Sanfrecce Hiroshima as the J-League champions came back from two goals down to share a 2-2 draw with China's Beijing Guoan in the AFC Champions League on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old left winger was heavily involved in both Hiroshima's goals as Naoki Ishihara netted and then an own goal from Zhao Hejing cancelled out second half strikes from Shao Jiayi and Joffre Guerron that had given the home side a 2-0 lead.

With FC Seoul edging Central Coast Mariners 1-0 in Australia, Group F now sees the Korean former finalists in pole position two points ahead of Hiroshima, Beijing and Central Coast who are all tied ahead of the final Matchday.

Next week, Beijing travel to Seoul and Hiroshima host Central Coast with both places in the last 16 still available.

Elsewhere, Korean champions Pohang Steelers secured a place in the last 16 as Group E winners after beating Cerezo Osaka 2-0 in Japan.

Lee Myung-joo and Kim Seung-dae scored either side of half-time for Pohang to earn its third win and establish an unbridgeable six-point gap at the top of the group.

Thailand's Buriram United shocked Shandong Luneng 1-0 to score its first win of the competition and draw level with the Chinese team on five points. Buriram now find themselves in a three-way tie for second place ahead of next week's final round of fixtures.
