Brazil coach Dunga has handed an international call up to Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano for friendlies against Turkey and Austria next month.

Adriano's selection came two days after the 27-year-old became the second player after Lionel Messi to score five goals in a Champions League match in Shakhtar's 7-0 defeat of BATE Borisov.

Other new faces in Brazil's squad were Hoffenheim playmaker Roberto Firmino, Shakhtar striker Douglas Costa and Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto.

Dunga said Adriano had earned his promotion, having spent seven years at Shakhtar after starting his career with Brazil's Internacional.

"Brazilian fans understand that it is difficult to play in a country like Ukraine, which has snow for many months of the year, and even harder to consistently score goals there and in the Champions League as well," Dunga said during a press conference on Thursday.

Dunga eschewed Brazil-based players after agreeing not to weaken local clubs in the final weeks of the domestic season.

Thiago Silva, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, returned to the squad for the first time since captaining Brazil to the semifinals of the World Cup in July.

But the Paris Saint-Germain defender is not expected to regain the leader's armband, which was given to Neymar in September.

Dunga also recalled Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas, Porto midfielder Casemiro and Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves.

Brazil will play Turkey in Istanbul on November 12 followed by a clash against Austria in Vienna six days later.
