Li Na has become a contracted student of 51Talk.com.

Retired tennis star Li Na yesterday signed a contract with 51Talk.com, an online English learning tool, to become one of the most illustrious students of the program.

"The online learning program is very flexible and people can arrange their learning time according to their own schedule," said Li Na at a press conference held by 51Talk.com yesterday.

Having recruited over 4,000 English teachers from around the world since its establishment in 2011, 51Talk.com provides an online platform for people to communicate with their designated teachers one by one over long-distance connection via the Internet.

According to Huang Jiajia, the founder and CEO of 51Talk.com, with the help of their online services, people can learn English by making interactions whenever and wherever they are with affordable tuition fees and adaptive learning models.

The online face to face communication has been lauded by Gong Yafu, a researcher from the National Institute of Education Sciences.

"The learning process isn't simply to gain command over a linguistic tool, but also to make communication involving personal thoughts and feelings," Gong said.

Chief Operating Officer Zhang Liming said that one of the economic values of 51Talk.com is the platform's capacity to fill the void left by deficient educational resources of the second-or-third-tier cities and towns.

Chinese people have been frenetic about learning English since the country’s adoption of the many reform and opening-up policies. Along with burgeoning training classes such as , New Oriental and Wall Street English, 51Talk.com has drawn attentions with its flexible online services.
