World's top violinist Edvin Marton and A-lister figure skating stars such as Evgeni Plushenko will perform at a grand event dubbed "AMAZING on ICE" in Beijing's hot summer.

It will be the seventh edition of the annual "AMAZING on ICE" this year at the Capital Gymnasium in Beijing. The event opens on July 15. Emmy Award-winning Edvin Marton will collaborate with Russian Olympic medalists Evgeni Plushenko and Adelina Sotnikova to perform "Carmina Burana," "Tango Amore" and "Love in Venice."

Other renowned performers include American national champion figure skater Johnny Weir, Swiss figure skater Stéphane Lambiel, and American Olympic-winning duo Meryl Davis and Charlie White. Chinese national champion and rising star in figure skating Jin Boyang will also ice dance with his idol Plushenko during the performance of "Tango Amore."

Also, child skaters will dance on the ice with China's national skate team member Yu Xiaoyu. Meanwhile, "AMAZING on ICE" is also working with 20th Century Fox to bring classic characters from the upcoming blockbuster animated feature "Ice Age: Collision Course" such as the ground sloth Sid, the weasel named Buck and the squirrel named Scrat to the court. The film will hit Chinese theaters on Aug. 23.

The couple Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo, who were the first Chinese skaters to win the gold medal at the Winter Olympic Games in any figure skating category, founded the annual "AMAZING on ICE" event and attracted 180,000 visitors, said Li Sheng, president and CEO of the Sports Entertainment Content Activation (SECA). He said he hoped that with this event Chinese audiences will better understand and appreciate figure skating, and he hoped this event can draw close connections among Chinese skating atheletes, fans and world top skaters, while igniting children's dreams.
