The Shanghai Rolex Masters, which will be held at Qizhong Tennis Center in suburban Minhang District from October 7 to 15 this year, unveiled a new logo yesterday.

The new diamond-shaped logo features the magnolia-like roof of Qizhong's main court with a tennis ball in the center. The tournament's previous shield-shaped logo had been used since Shanghai hosted the year-end ATP Masters Cup in 2002. But the Shanghai event's title sponsor has called for a new design this year.

Local organizer Shanghai Juss Event said ticket sales for the event started this week. Log on to www.jusstickets.com for more information. Roger Federer, who claimed a record eighth crown at Wimbledon this week, has confirmed his participation. The Swiss missed last year's tournament due to injury.
