United States runner Kerron Clement ended his wait for Olympic glory in the 400m hurdles by winning the gold medal at the Rio Games on Thursday.
The 30-year-old finished in 47.73 seconds, his best time of the year, to beat Kenya's Boniface Mucheru by five hundredths of a second.
Turkey's Yasmani Copello claimed bronze at the Olympic Stadium in 47.92.
The Trinidad-born Clement is a two-time 400m hurdles world champion and took silver in the event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He was eighth at the London 2012 Games.
It was Clement's second Olympic gold medal, to go with his 4x100m relay triumph in Beijing.
