Defending champion Guangdong celebrated a record 14th straight
victory of the CBA season after beating Zhejiang on New Year's
Day.
Guangdong overcame a first quarter deficit to smash Zhejiang
120-97 at home.
Yi Jianlian hit a game-high of 35 points and nine rebounds for
Guangdong. Zhu Fangyu and Du Feng had 19 and 16, respectively.
Millage Curtis led Zhejiang with 20 points, and Samake Soumaila
added 18 points and 11 rebounds.
In another game also played in Guangdong, visiting Bayi upset
CBA new comer Dongguan 114-95.
Li Nan led Bayi with a career-high of 48 points, while Mo Ke
added 31 points and 13 rebounds.
Anthony Miles scored 28 points for Dongguan, who currently sit
at the bottom of the South Conference.
In the capital, former NBA player Mengke Bateer hit a game-high
of 36 points in host Beijing's 121-102 win over Shaanxi.
Jiao Jian scored 18 points and Zhang Yunsong chipped in another
16 points for Beijing, who currently tops the North Conference with
15 wins.
Moore Trey led Shaanxi with 35 points and six rebounds, but it
still wasn't enough for the team, who has lost their last five
matches in a row.
In other results on Sunday, Yunnan beat Jiangsu 117-104, Henan
upset Jilin 105-97, Fujian lost to Shanghai 100-69, while Shandong
was defeated 113-102 by Liaoning.
