Three Chinese women made it into the second round of the French
Open, with just one player failing to advance.
Strasburg runner-up Peng Shuai led the Chinese squad in Monday's
fight, taking just over an hour to sail into the second round with
a 6-2, 6-2 straight-set win over Russian Elena Vesnina.
Ace Chinese player, Li Na, endured a series of ups and downs
before defeating US veteran Amy Frazier 7-6, 4-6 and 6-1, to secure
her place in the next round.
Athens Olympics doubles champion Sun Tiantian joined the lineup
of Peng and Li after ousting Russian Ekaterina Bychkova 6-2,
7-5.
Yuan Meng was the only Chinese victim in the first round, losing
6-1, 6-2 to Ukraine's Julia Vakulenko.
