Three Chinese women made it into the second round of the French Open, with just one player failing to advance.

Strasburg runner-up Peng Shuai led the Chinese squad in Monday's fight, taking just over an hour to sail into the second round with a 6-2, 6-2 straight-set win over Russian Elena Vesnina.

Ace Chinese player, Li Na, endured a series of ups and downs before defeating US veteran Amy Frazier 7-6, 4-6 and 6-1, to secure her place in the next round.

Athens Olympics doubles champion Sun Tiantian joined the lineup of Peng and Li after ousting Russian Ekaterina Bychkova 6-2, 7-5.

Yuan Meng was the only Chinese victim in the first round, losing 6-1, 6-2 to Ukraine's Julia Vakulenko.
