The Bayi men's table tennis team remained unbeatable in China's
domestic super league as they swept Ningbo 3-0 for their sixth
victory in a row.
Chinese Hong Kong player Li Jing came back after being down one
set to beat Chen Jian 8-11, 11-9, 11-8 and 11-9, giving Bayi the
upper hand.
In the singles match that followed top world player Wang Liqin
displayed his power and skill by beating former world number one
Kong Linghui in three straight sets.
And Bayi's winning streak didn't stop there, as Li Jing and Liu
Yang beat their opponents 3-2 to also win the doubles match.
Following this victory, Bayi maintains top place in the
rankings, followed by Shaanxi and Shandong.
On the women's side, the star-studded Liaoning team shook off
their disappointment in the last round by beating Shandong 3-0 at
home.
World and Olympic champion Wang Nan spearheaded the team with a
3-2 victory over Jiang Huajun in the first singles clash.
And Teenager Guo Yue scooped one more point for Liaoning from
the second singles match before Wang Nan and Hou Xiaoxu won the
doubles 3-2.
League leaders Beijing are set to take on Wuxi in the last match
of the sixth round.
