Chinese snooker prodigy Ding Junhui has consolidated his leading
position at the Premier League after seeing off the challenge of
Ken Doherty 4-2.
The mtach took place Thursday evening after an impeccably
observed one-minute silence for Paul Hunter who died on Monday.
Ding, the UK Championship winner, bounced back from a 5-1
hammering at the hands of White the previous week to record his
second win of the tournament.
Ding scored the only century of the match in the final frame to
secure his success after three previous half-century breaks.
Doherty had taken the opening frame with a break of 88 and also
won a scrappy fourth to level matters at two apiece.
However, he was unable to stop his opponent running away with
the final two frames.
