Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid has confirmed to play a few
friendly games in Tanzania in July this year, according to local
press reports on Friday.
The confirmation was made through a letter from the soccer club
to the Paris-based Tanzanian embassy which also covers Spain. The
Spanish club has set out some pre-conditions that include non-stop
flights to and from Tanzania, high-quality accommodation and
domestic travel while in the country.
Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, who personally extended the
invitation to the Spanish club while on a stopover in Madrid last
year, has entrusted sports authorities of the country to set up a
special committee to secure the necessary sponsorship and
arrangement to guarantee the tour.
