The Brazilian Confederation of Football (CBF) got a letter on
Friday from AC Milan striker Kaka, requesting his dismissal from
the Copa America, which the national team will be playing this
year.
The player argued that he was "tired," as he had not had a
vacation since 2004. In 2005, while he was off duty at Milan, he
played the Confederations Cup for Brazil, and in 2006 he took part
in Germany's World Cup as a first choice midfielder/striker for the
team.
CBF stated they are also expecting a similar letter from
Barcelona's midfielder/striker Ronaldinho, who had not gone on
vacation since 2004 either.
Kaka was recently considered one of Milan's main assets to push
the team to Europe's Champions League final, against Liverpool. He
has been the top scorer of the 2007 League so far, with 10
goals.
Following the frustrating World Cup, Kaka returned to the
national team on the second friendly match under the command of the
new head coach Dunga.
He was on the bench at the game against Argentina, but entered
the field in the second half and scored an impressive goal, which
ensured his participation in the six games that followed.
On Thursday May 17, Dunga will announce the roster for the next
friendly, to be held against England on June 1 at Wembley Stadium
in London.
