China's women's volleyball team beat Poland 3-2 at the 2007
Grand Prix campaign in Rzeszow, Poland early Sunday morning.
The tough match ended with the final tally of: 28-26, 24-26,
25-15, 23-25, 15-12.
China lost their game against European powerhouse Russia, on
Saturday morning, at 1-3.
China will meet with the United States, who beat Russia and
Poland in the last matches of Pool C at the preliminary round.
The Grand Prix lasts for four weeks with a total of 65 matches.
During the first, second and third weeks each team will play nine
matches in total.
The first week's action will also Japan, Cuba, the Dominican
Republic and Kazakhstan battling it out in Group A, with Tokyo,
Japan, Italy, Brazil, the Netherlands and Taipei in Group B, in
Verona, Italy.
The general ranking is decided by the total points gained by the
teams in the preliminary matches. Host China, plus the top five
ranked teams, will qualify to play in the finals in Ningbo, China,
from Aug. 22-26, with a round robin system deciding the 2007 World
Grand Prix champion.
