World No. 3 Novak Djokovic defeated dark horse Stanislas
Wawrinka from Switzerland 6-4, 6-0 to win the title of men's single
in the BA-CA Tennis Trophy in Vienna on Sunday.
In the first set, the Serbian broke in the third game to get the
advantage by 2-1. Wawrinka, ranked 41st in the world, saved two set
points after trailing 4-5, but could not stand the pressure from
Djokovic's strong service.
Djokovic's performance in the second set was invincible, winning
six games in a row, while Wawrinka did not organize any effective
defense, and got only 4 points in the whole set.
This is the seventh title in the ATP tournaments of the Serbian,
who also pocketed the 133,250-euro prize money, with five of his
winnings gotten in this season.
The BA-CA Tennis Trophy, having started on Oct. 6 in Vienna
Stadthalle, is one of the traditional tournaments of the ATP, and
the prize reaches 640,000 euros this year.
