Netherlands have paid heavily for their 2-0 victory over Slovenia at the Euro 2008 Group G qualifier on Wednesday, seeing regular starting trio off the pitch due to injury.

Midfielder Rafael van der Vaart strained his hamstring midway in the first half and was substituted by winger Arjen Robben, who was forced out with the same injury after 63 minutes.

Striker Robin van Persie limped off with a twisted knee on the hour.
