There are no significant changes in the current rankings
released Monday by FIFA, as teams remained rooted in their last
month's positions.
Argentina, Brazil and Italy were still the World's top three
teams, leading the pack 201 teams rated.
Indeed, all top 20 teams remained in their positions. Nigeria,
the 20th is still Africa's best.
It was perhaps the victory against Switzerland and two drawn
games against Macedonia and Mexico (2-2) that might have helped to
stabilize the team in the current position. However, but for a loss
to Australia (0-1), the Eagles could have made an upward
movement.
Among the other African teams rated, it was Mozambique, another
Africa side that was the highest climbers. They amassed 245 points
to rise to 75th place, up from 53, thus earning themselves the
title of "Best Mover of the Year".
The bulk of Africa's best teams made the top 50 teams in the
world. They include, Cameroons (24), Guinea (33), Cote d'Ivoire
(37), Senegal (38), Egypt (39), Morocco (39), Ghana (43), Mali (46)
and Tunisia (47).
