The midfielder, Marcinho Guerreiro, is the first reinforcement
made to the player's roster of 2008 for Santos, announced on Friday
the Brazilian soccer team.
The player had previously played in the Ukraine for Metallurg
Donestk. Santos made a deal with the team that would lend the
player to the Brazilian team for seven months.
On Friday, the manager of the team, Ilton Jose da Costa said,
"Marcinho Guerreiro closed a deal with us that will last for seven
months."
Guerreiro was a direct request from the head coach, Emerson
Leao, who worked with the player while they were both with the
soccer club Palmeiras.
This Friday, the team announced that they have three contracts
in the works with Brazilian players who currently play abroad.
Marcinho is one of them. He is 27 years old and has already played
for the Brazilian teams of Sao Paulo, Gama, Figueirense, Palmeiras,
and the Ukrainian team of Metallurg Donestk.
The other two players are suspected to be Fred, who plays for
the French team of Lyon, and Danilo, who currently plays for the
Japanese team of Kashima Antlers.
The administration of the team claimed that Fabao, the fullback,
has entered into negotiations as well. "I wouldn't say it is
certain, but the negotiations are getting better. However, we
haven't received a definitive answer," claimed Ilton.
