Nigeria has recorded mixed fortunes at the World Team Table Tennis Championships in Guangzhou, China.
While Nigeria has won two of the three matches played in the men's categories, the females stumbled in theirs, winning just one of the three played so far after two days, according to the report of the News Agency of Nigeria.
The men's team went on to a good start on Sunday when they beat Israel 3-1 but stumbled in their game against England.
England triumphed 3-1 but the Nigerians made up for the loss when they turned back their Bulgarian counterparts 3-1 Monday.
In the women's events, the Nigerian girls recorded just one win. After going down narrowly 3-2 to Slovenia, they returned to outplay Portugal 3-1 but found no solution to the Lithuanians, who hammered them 3-0.
Nigeria's men are in Group H with England, Canada, Bulgaria, Israel and Australia while the women are in the same group with Malaysia, Lithuania, Portugal, Slovenia and Venezuela.
The Nigerian men face Canada on Tuesday while the girls take on Venezuela.
