Preparations to the Euro 2012 soccer championship in Poland are running according to plan, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk Wednesday in Warsaw assured visiting UEFA president Michel Platini.

"Poland's progress with Euro 2012 had found full approval by UEFA," Polish news agency PAP quoted Tusk as saying after talks with Platini.

"We guarantee that everything will be ready on schedule," Tusk said, adding that the main Euro project would be the construction of a National Stadium in Warsaw.

Platini, in Poland with a UEFA delegation to inspect the Euro 2012 preparations, also spoke with Polish sport minister Miroslaw Drzewiecki, Polish Soccer Association (PZPN) head Michal Listkiewicz and Marcin Herra, head of the PL.2012 company overseeing the Euro projects.

During his one-day visit Platini also met Polish President Lech Kaczynski and Warsaw mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz. On Thursday he will depart on a similar mission to Ukraine.
