Chinese shooter wins girls' 10m air rifle gold at AYG

Zhong Chunchan of China won the gold medal for girls' 10m air rifle finals at the first Asian Youth Games (AYG) on Wednesday.

Zhong shot her way to the top with a total score of 499.5, 0.9 points higher than the second place, Go Do Won from South Korea. Alzayed Hessah from Kuwait won the bronze medal with the score of 497.8.

"I didn't know what placing I got while I was shooting," the 17-year-old Zhong said. "I just tried to concentrate on each shot and keep patience."

The first Asian Youth Games is held in Singapore from June 29 to July 7, with some 1,400 athletes aged between 14 and 17 from 45 Olympic Council of Asia's members competing in 90 events across nine sports.
