Once again Russia, once again Natalia Ishchenko was on the highest step of podium at the swimming championships.
The dubbed "queen of synchro", never defeated in Shanghai, enjoyed a hat-trick feat with the victory in the free solo routine final on Wednesday night.
It was the third gold for Ishchenko after her triumph at the technical solo and duet disciplines.
"Today I have made three wonderful performances," said Ishchenko, implying her shows of the day in solo preliminaries, teams preliminaries and solo final.
Ishchenko's winning point of 98.550 fully proved her supremacy in the competitions. As so far, no one had ever scored higher than 98.0 points.
"The secret of our achievement is that we train for many hours and our country team is always the best." said the 25-year-old Russian.
Andrea Fuentes of Spain took the silver in 96.520 and China's Sun Wenyan stood third in 95.840.
"I felt tired in the final," said Sun, who also finished third in the morning's qualifying session.
"My performance tonight is more steady, especially in the spinning part. I felt nervous but had no pressure."added Sun, who grabbed a silver with her teammates in technical final last night.
While Fuentes, always the third finishers in the past three disciplines ended, finally achieved her goal.
"I am surprised that I could get the silver medal, I have already done my best." said the Spanish.
