Italy acquired the same training site it used for last year's Confederations Cup for the World Cup.

FIFA has confirmed it can train at Southdowns College in Irene, between Johannesburg and Pretoria, announced by the Italian football federation here on Monday.

The defending champions will sleep at the Leriba Lodge near Southdowns.

The United States had requested ahead of Italy to use Southdowns and it wasn't immediately clear how Italy was preferred.

The Azzurri were eliminated after the group stage of the Confederations Cup.

For the World Cup, Italy was drawn in Group F with Paraguay, New Zealand and Slovakia.
