The first institute of higher learning dedicated to agriculture, CAU's popularity has diminished with the decline in agricultural interest among China's youth. Now, CAU has turned itself into a comprehensive university with agriculture as its distinguished feature and advantage. It is composed of 13 colleges and has a graduate school and a school of continuing education.

Tuition: 3,000 – 5,000 yuan per year
