Top 10 cars to watch at Auto Shanghai 2011

Auto Shanghai 2011, the 14th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, will open in the city's new International Expo Center on 21 April. Industry giants from home and abroad are gearing up for the 8-day carnival of cars in the world's biggest automobile market.

The following are the top 10 most expected cars at this exhibition:

The Audi A1 is a supermini-class car with quality and cutting edge style. It is intended to compete with the Mini and the Alfa Romeo Mito and is aimed mostly at the affluent urban young. The Audi A1, 1.4 TFSI Sport version was awarded "Car of the Year 2011" by the British magazine, "What Car?".

The A1 is produced in Vorst, near Brussels. The three door model went on sale in Germany in August 2010, and in the UK the following November.

The A1 is available with a 1.2 TFSI petrol engine with 86PS, a 1.4 TFSI petrol engine with 122PS and a diesel 1.6TDI engine with 105PS, all optimized by engine start-stop and energy recuperation systems to achieve low emissions and fuel consumption.
