Top 30 property developers in H1

Despite government efforts to rein in the housing market, China's top property players delivered strong performances in the first half of 2011.
China's biggest listed property company, Vanke, remains top dog in the country's top 30 home sellers by revenue in the first half of this year, according to the semi-annual report on the sales of property developers released by the China Real Estate Information Corporation (CRIC) and China Real Estate Appraisal(CREA).
The report recorded the half-year sales revenue and sales area of new homes in nearly 100 major cities by Chinese property developers whose operations are mainly focused on the mainland.
Vanke raked in 64.4 billion yuan in sales revenue, up by 81 percent for over the same period last year. It was followed by Evergrande Group (42.9 billion yuan) and China Overseas Land & Investment (42.1 billion yuan).
Evergrande, with a stunning growth rate of 103 percent in sales revenue from January to June, almost equalized its sales record of 50 billion yuan for the full year of 2010. In addition, the company was number one on the top 30 list by sales area, with a total of 6.2 million square meters sold in the first six months this year, an 86.75 percent increase.
The top 10 property developers on the list reported sales revenue of 332.3 billion yuan, an increase of 80 percent for over the same period last year. The threshold for the top 10 by revenue and sales area are 15. 6 billion yuan and 1.16 million square meters respectively, up by 48 percent and 25 percent.
Of the top 10 companies by revenue, seven reported semi-year sales exceeding 20 billion yuan.
