Based on the "Harry Potter" novels from J.K. Rowling, the "Harry Potter" film series consists of eight fantasy films. The series began with "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" (2001) and ended with the two-part "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" films (2011). One of the highest grossing film series of all time, the "Harry Potter" films chronicle the quest of the adolescent wizard Harry Potter and his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, to overcome the evil wizard Lord Voldemort. Voldemort is intent on conquering both the non-magical world and wizarding worlds, and destroying all those who get in his way, especially Harry Potter.
