A new global survey has revealed the top 10 countries where retail petroleum price is the lowest. Except for the UAE (United Arab Emirates), every other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member is on the list.
According to Staveley Head, a UK-based provider of specialist insurance products, the top one on the list is Caracas in Venezuela, where retail petrol price is as low as £0.02 (US$0.03) per liter.
Saudi Arabia, the country with one of world's largest known oil reserves and the world’s largest exporter of crude oil, follows Venezuela on the list with an average petrol price of £0.08 (US$0.13) per liter, four times as that of Venezuela's.
Tripoli in Libya is the third on the list, where retail petrol price is £0.09 (US$0.14) a liter.
