The 6th Asian Brand Ceremony held in Hong Kong announced the list of "Top 500 Brands in Asia 2011." South Korea's Samsung tops the list, followed by Japan's Toyota and South Korea's LG.

China Mobile rose to the 4th on the list from last year's 5th, which is mainly due to the further diversification of its value-added services. China's Haier, Baosteel, Wuliangye and Lenovo are also among the top 20.

Based on the Asian brand evaluation system (ABAS), which focuses on the brands' overall business performance in the market, their future development potential, the quality of their products, their operational efficiency and other financial data. A total of ten indicators are involved: brand age, degree of internationalization, marketing mix, brand awareness, total asset growth, innovation, service, quality level, operating income and net profit.

The ranking covers various industries including home appliance, real estate, home, food, tobacco, alcohol, banking and finance, energy, building material, machinery manufacturing, logistics, aviation and broadcasting.
