Tyler Perry's movies have grossed more than $500 million worldwide, with hits such as Diary of a Mad Black Woman earning $50 million alone. Some critics complain that Perry's productions feature stereotypical characters -- but the audiences keep coming. Perry also produces TBS network sitcoms House of Payne and Meet the Browns. Upcoming films include We the Peeples, and Perry will assume the title role in I, Alex Cross, a film adaptation of a James Patterson novel.
