Beijing Capital International Airport

Built in 1958, Beijing Capital International Airport, known as the "China Gateway," is the largest and busiest international aviation hub with the most advanced facilities in China. With a total area of 138,358 hectares, it is the first airport in the Asia-Pacific region that has three terminals, three runways, and two towers operating simultaneously.

At only a short drive or 30-minute express train ride to central Beijing, Beijing Capital International Airport has one of most convenient locations of any major Chinese airport. It is becoming one of the busiest airports in the world, with 1,400 flights of more than 70 airlines taking off from and landing on its three terminals each day, connecting Beijing with 208 domestic and international cities. PEK's annual passenger traffic increased 13.1 percent from 65.38 million in 2009 to 73.95 million in 2010, currently ranking second place worldwide.
