Top 25 most valuable Chinese brands 2012

China Mobile, with a brand value of 238.57 billion yuan (US$37.47 billion), overtook the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China to become the most valuable Chinese brand this year, according to the latest China's 500 Most Valuable Brands published by World Brand Lab on June 28.

The total collective value of this year's brands listed in the top 500 rankings reached 6583.76 billion yuan (US$1034.3 billion), with an average brand value of 13.17 billion yuan (US$2.06 billion). The minimum value of the listed brands increased 170 million yuan (US$26.7 million) from last year's minimum of 1.02 billion yuan (US$160 million).

This year's list, compiled based on financial analysis, consumer behavior and brand strength, is the ninth edition of the annual ranking.

The World Brand Lab, established in New York City in the year of 2003, is the leading independent consultancy of brand valuation and marketing strategy in the world. It began publishing its annual brand rankings in 2004.
