Located in New York City, the museum is one of the 10 largest museums in the world. Founded in 1870, more than 2 million works are housed here, including several from classical antiquity and Ancient Egypt, as well as paintings and sculptures from most European masters. The museum boasts a variety of music instrument collections, as well as costumes and accessories from across the globe.
