"Touch of the Light," directed by Chang Jung-Chi, is a widely-applauded and touching Taiwan drama. Based on true events related to the life of Taiwanese piano prodigy Huang Yu-Siang (Siang played by himself), this is a story of inspiration, discovery and love.

Siang was born into a rural family in Taiwan as a blind son, but he was a curious and premature child. For him, touch and sound meant everything. With the love of his mother and support of his family, he grew up with no barriers until he had to face the real world when he left his family home to attend university. He soon crossed paths with Jie (Sandrine Pinna), a beautiful yet frustrated soda vendor with dreams of being a dancer, but struggling with the harshness of reality.

"Touch of Light" is a story of growing up, having dreams, determination, love, positive energy and believing in yourself. The film won several film awards and was selected as the Taiwanese entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards, though it failed to make the final shortlist.
