Born in 1963, Zhang Yuan is a famous film director on the Chinese mainland. He is a very talented director and has produced several award-winning films including "East Palace, West Palace," the first homosexual film on the Chinese mainland, "Beijing Bastards," "Green Tea" and "Dada's Dance." However, he was arrested taking a variety of drugs with four friends at his home on January 9, 2008 and tested positive for ketamine and crystal meth. Nine months after the events, he returned to the public eye and presented his movie "Dada's Dance," proving to people everywhere he had recovered.
