Western Zhou Tombs of Shigu Mountain, together with nine other important locations, makes up the top 10 Chinese archaeological discoveries in 2013.
A large number of important cultural relics were unearthed in 2013, including the teeth of Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty, precious medicine classics and amazing Tibetan stone carvings.
The Top 10 Chinese archaeological discoveries program is held by State Administration of Cultural Heritage. It has excavated cultural heritage for 24 years since it was launched in 1990. The program plays an important role in cultural heritage protection, fills in an academic blank and promotes the development of cultural industry.

Archaeologists have excavated the Western Zhou Tombs since August of 2013 and found 11 small tombs and one middle-sized tomb. Located in Shigu Mountain of Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, it was discovered in 2012 by local residents when they dug house foundations. In the middle-sized tomb, four bronze wares, two pottery wares and several mussel decorations have been discovered, which has important value in researching the religion and fiefdom of the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046 - 771 BC).
