Kawakarpo Peak in the Meili Snow Mountains

Located in Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, the Meili Snow Mountains feature lush forest, azure sky and fresh air. There are 13 peaks with altitudes of more than 6000 meters. The main peak - Kawakarpo Peak is 6740 meters high, the highest mountain in Yunnan Province. The 10th Panchen - Panchen Erdini Chokyi Gyaltsen held religious rites in front of the peak. The mountains are covered by snow, ice and cloud all year around, offering visitors distinctive views. The best time to travel is from October to May, when there is good weather, dense forest and lively animals like deer, bear and lesser pandas.
