Tsinghua University has long been recognized as one of the top two universities on the Chinese mainland. Located in the municipality of Beijing, it was founded in 1911 under the name Tsinghua Xuetang. Every year, many high school graduates with high scores in the National College Entrance Exams choose Tsinghua. The comprehensive research university currently has 14 schools and 56 departments, with faculties in sciences, engineering, humanities, law, medicine, history, philosophy, economics, management, education and art.
