Located 24 kilometers from northwestern downtown Taiyuan, Juewei Mountain is a scenic spot boasting soaring peaks and steep cliffs. In spring, the mountain is covered with all kinds of flowers in blossom, and in autumn it is decorated with red leaves. The area is one of the best-known scenic spots in Taiyuan. The temple at the top of the mountain also houses a number of images of Buddha, frescoes and stone tablets. There is also a dagoba that dates back to the Song Dynasty (A.D. 960-1279).
