Top 10 green companies in the world

The rankings of the world's largest companies on their sustainability and environmental performance have been published by Newsweek, in partnership with Corporate Knights, HIP Investor Inc., combined with opinions from experts of nongovernmental organizations and the academic and accounting communities.

As one of the world’s most recognized assessments of corporate environmental performance, Green Rankings ranks the 500 largest publicly-traded in the United States and the world respectively by market capitalization.

Based on the data in 2014, the 2016 version uses eight key performance indicators for measurement, including combined energy productivity, combined greenhouse gas productivity, combined water productivity, combined waste productivity, green revenue score, sustainability pay link, sustainability board committee and audited environmental metrics, accounting for 15 percent, 15 percent, 15 percent, 15 percent, 20 percent, 10 percent, 5 percent and 5 percent respectively.
