Zu Yue temple was constructed during the Tang dynasty but was used as a royal monastery during the Jin dynasty. The queen-mother of the Emperor was said to have recuperated there. It was rebuilt in 1572 (Ming dynasty) after sustaining damage. Zu Yue temple along with Long Quan temple, Zhong Hui temple, Xiang Yan temple, and Da An temple make up part of the group known as the "Five Buddhist Temples."[Photo: Sina.com]
