On the cliff behind the Zu Yue Temple, 4 Chinese characters are carved into the stone, explaining the dominant position that Zu Yue possesses. The characters were inscribed by an officer during the Ming dynasty. 4 other Chinese characters were also inscribed into the stone but have since eroded.
