Along the bank of Jinsha River on the upper reaches of Yangtze River there is a small ancient town called Dege. Entering this mysterious land administered by Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, visitors first see rolling high mountains, which, although not as magnificent and beautiful as mountains seen elsewhere, are stately and awe-inspiring. The mountains are often covered by snow, which, along with the blue sky, adds a sense of holiness to the area. [Photo courtesy of the Publicity Department of CPC Dege Committee]
